Opening with the classic aromas of green apple and lemon peel, the nose also shows more exotic fruit and spice notes. The palate has a soft core of juicy pear-like fruit, a rounded texture and a lovely phenolic freshness. Immediately appealing and pleasing.

A lean yellow hue with notes of spices, pears, citrus and florals on the nose. Good concentration, good balance, a supple almost creamy texture, and an intensity which continues throughout. Excellent length and a fine example of Mornington Peninsula Pinot Gris which will drink well over the next four years.

I’m a fan of wines that feature, as part of their flavour profile, a keen line of grapefruit and this is one such wine. Pear, citrus and apple characters add extra bite and flesh, while flint notes add some flash. This for me is excellent buying and drinking.

Pale straw, lively and fresh in the glass. Pretty aromas of baked apple, pear, nectarine, and nougat. Fresh and punchy on the palate, citrus, green melon, pear, and stone fruit flavours dominate. There’s plenty of crunchy acidity and some grippy phenolics that drive the length and mouthfeel.

The Vintage
The Vineyard
Quartier means neighbourhood in French and the Quartier varietals are a celebration of diverse terroirs on the Mornington Peninsula. The fruit for this wine is sourced from a neighbouring vineyard in Balnarring.
The fruit was whole bunch pressed and fermentation commenced spontaneously with ambient yeasts in entirely old French oak barriques. Once dry, the wine was left sur lie for several months prior to bottling. The wine was bottled without fining and with minimal filtration.
